Channelling Chanel Weekend Workshop

Channelling Chanel Weekend Workshop

Saturday April 30th 2-5 Sunday May 1st 10-3

This beautiful simplified Chanel style, crop collarless style jacket can be made over a weekend at our workshop in Bowral.

We will be running a measure, toile and cut session from 2-5 on the Saturday afternoon (30th April) and returning on the Sunday 1st May from 10-3 to stitch your lined crop collarless jacket with patch pockets and trim.

This jacket is a simplified version of the classic Chanel styling and is suitable for sewists of most levels – not for beginners. Some might struggle to get the jacket completed in the time frame but others should be able to wear it home 🧥🤩

For those more accomplished, there will be the opportunity for discussing more intricate and traditional Chanel Couture techniques, though there will not be time for demonstrations.

A great social day – come and meet some interesting and fun new sewist friends, learn some new skills, a day out and a new jacket = WINNING 🤩

Price includes our own Loom Chanelling Chanel pattern.

Fabric, lining and trims are not included in the workshop price.

Come early and grab what you need at the store, you will need your fabric, fusing, lining, scissors, pins and tape measure on the Saturday.

You will need thread, cut pieces, trims and and sewing machine on the Sunday.

We will have some snacks, tea and coffee available, you can bring lunch or pop out and buy some if you wish.

NOTE: Whilst this workshop has been inspired by our beautiful Chanel fabrics (in store now), you can make this iconic jacket from ANY fabric – linen, denim, wools, whatever you choose. The only restriction is we are all working on the same pattern.

I look forward to seeing your finished jacket!

Our Teacher - Rel

Our Teachers – Charlotte

Charlotte got into sewing as a teenager at school and knew it was a hobby she wanted to pursue. After school she completed her Cert 4 in Clothing Manufacture and Design at a small tailoring school in Sydney and then shortly afterward started the Fashion Design course at Tafe.
Charlotte moved to Bowral and opened Loom Fabrics in 2014 after she found out her real passion in the Fashion Industry lay in the fabric side of things. Throughout her time running the store, she had lots of time to create a mostly self-made wardrobe and also did alterations and dressmaking work for her customers. She would describe herself as a mostly self-taught sewer with a bit of ‘natural messiness’ being reigned in by a few of her technical sewing teachers over the years. Her favourite thing to do is to find perfect fabric/ project matches and to play with creative ways to finish garments off.
Sewing and design ideas are always in the front of her mind 🧵🧵
