Our First Fabric Festival – It’s a very ROYAL occasion 👑👑
I would like to formally invite you to our first-ever Fabric Festival! Being the King’s Birthday weekend, the theme is ROYAL CELEBRATION🫅
It also happens to coincide with 10 years of Loom fabrics so there will be a bit of a party 🎉
The outline of the Festival:
June 9 and 10: Instore at 242 Bong Bong St – the last opportunity to visit the store before we move everything out.
It will be held June 9th and 10th (Sun/Mon of the long weekend)
The rough outline so far is this:
A 2 day program of workshops showcasing a variety of Royally-themed creative sewing projects including some of the below ideas:
A wonderfully regal tweed cape
Luxurious Cashmere Wrap Lounging/Dressing Gowns
Grace Kelly styled pencil skirts and capri pants
Queen Elizabeth silk headscarves
Some fancy puffy sleeves
I’m hoping for a fabric fedora 🤩
Luxurious velvet cushions fit for royalty with golden and tasselled trims
Classic Corduroy Blazers suitable for rambling through the royal countryside and driving vintage range rovers over the palace grounds 🤪
Free Tickets for Frocktails High Tea will be available HERE – I’m trying to gauge numbers it would be really helpful to know if you intend to come for catering purposes – 😍

11.30-12 workshop and demonstrations for the tweed capeINTERMEDIATE
12.30-1 scarf discussion, styling ideas and demonstration how to achieve fine hem on regular sewing machine BEGINNER AND HAND SEWING
1.30-2 Discussion on cashmere or luxury robes, possible construction lesson on Couture seam constructions INTERMEDIATE TO ADVANCED
2.30-3.30 – FROCKTAILS STYLE HIGH TEA Showcase your own unique style and makes by wearing or bringing along something you’ve made 🤩🤩 There will be cakes, tea and bubbles 🧁🧁🍾🍾🥂☕️☕️🫖 ALL LEVELS

12.30-1 Velvet cushion cutting, styling ideas and demonstration how to attach cord trims and tassels on regular sewing machine, invisible zips BEGINNER
1.30-2 Discussion on classic corduroy and more masculine suiting and tailoring ideas for suiting wools ADVANCED
I’m hoping to find time to talk about how to make a fabric fedora
The store will be open for regular fabric sales also during this time – you do not need a ticket to come and buy fabric but it would be really helpful to know if you are planning on coming to any of the workshops also so I know how many copies of notes etc to prepare. Because I haven’t done anything like this before it would be super helpful if you can let me know which workshops you plan on attending.
